Weiming Forum and Fund Raising Banquet

A Peking University delegation, led by President XU Zhi-Hong and Vice President HAI Wen will be visiting San Francisco, the Bay area in early October.

Peking University Alumni Association of Northern California (PKUAANC), along with Peking University Education Foundation and Peking University Education Foundation (US), are very pleased to announce an event named Weiming Forum on Saturday, Oct. 7th, at Double Tree Hotel in San Jose.This event is FREE of charge and open to the public.

At the forum, Professor XU will be giving a speech titled ¡°The Cultural Power of University Spirit¡±. Mr. Xu has been leading Peking University since 1999 and will share his in-depth opinions on how he thinks PKU should do to provide better education to the students, and what kind of challenges PKU is facing.

Professor HAI will be expressing his unique view on ¡°China¡¯s Economy in the Next 20 Years¡±.Prof. Hai has been a well-known scholar on economy and is currently served as a ¡°Special Commentator¡± at CCTV.He will be talking about the problems and difficulties Chinese economy has to deal with, and, ,of course, what China should do to maintain the high speed of development in the upcoming years.

This event is going to be the first one for Weiming Forum.PKUAANC will be organizing a series of events focusing on promoting Chinese culture and cross-cultural communication.

A dinner banquet is scheduled after the forum.The purpose is to raise fund supporting PKU students who are undergoing financial difficulties. President XU Zhihong and Vice President HAI Wen will be at the banquet and giving updated information about PKU.

 

The dinner costs $100.00 per person, within this,$40.00 will be covering the cost of dinner, while $60.00 will be going directly to the fund PKU sets up for students who need help.For more information on the fund, please visit
